When we were younger, our parents and teachers constantly reminded and taught us about the importance of eating fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as avoiding junk food and processed foods. But we still follow what we want and neglect to practice healthy eating habits even now that we are smart adults. You can start being practical in choosing nutritious food the first day you go in the supermarket such as fruits and vegetables, and avoid high carbohydrate, high calorie and high in fat foods such as soda, ice cream, chips, chocolates and canned goods. Low-carb diet has been proven to amazingly lose weight because it inhibits the production of “hunger hormone” called ghrelin, thus you don’t easily get hungry, reducing food intake per day. It is best to buy food without ingredients or only a few ingredients, and consume real food instead, that have good quality and minimally processed food.
When it comes to exercise, you can do simple exercises before going to work like stretching or jogging in place even for short period of time, as long as you start doing it every day and eventually it becomes a hobby. Live your life by not dwelling too much indoors, go outside and breath some fresh air, and if you’re in the office invite some close colleagues outside to view a beautiful nature scenery or the sky on your lunch time. We are living in the digital age, and there are so many health apps you can download online to help you achieve health and fitness. Health apps come in different features and uses such as for counting your calorie intake, monitoring the number of steps when walking or running, diet planners and health e-books. There are free and paid downloads you can choose from. If you’re going through a tough situation, you need to make a difficult decision or you have an unbearable emotional pain, don’t hesitate to talk to a friend, family member like your spouse or to a professional to ensure your overall health and well-being.
